Books of the Bible
I shared this on facebook a little while back, but decided to put it up here also. She has known the books of the Old Testament for about 4 months now and is just getting the hang of the New Testament. She picks up songs very quickly, she also knows her ABC's, how to spell Addison (the Addison song) many Bible songs and hymns and her favorite song right now is Away in the Manger. So much fun!

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma Seibel!
Today my grandma turned 90! We had a very nice open house Saturday for her. The weather was beautiful almost 70 (unlike the blizzard like weather just two days later!) and she had a great turnout, lots of family and friends. We were so glad to be able to be there and help her celebrate!

Baby Shoot Gunner
We made it up to see Addison's new (and only) cousin! He belongs to Adam's sister Carrie, and Garrett and was born the 12th of December. Addison is completely in love with "my little baby Shoot Gunner" (Gunner) she has called him Shoot Gunner since he was born. I believe it has something to do with thinking she needs a shot gun and she associates Gunner with shot gun. We were able to spend a couple days there and had a wonderful time! It was so much fun to just sit and hold baby Gunner. He is a beautiful little guy! Addison did very well around him, very gentle and careful, she sang to him and even got to hold him. She is eagerly anticipating when he gets bigger, because then he can play with her. We hated leaving but hope we can see them again soon!

SNOW!!!
We finally have snow! Miss AJ has been so anxious and has been talking of sledding since she and Daddy saw sleds while Christmas shopping. When we woke up to snow this morning she could hardly contain her excitement! It was still coming down and Adam suggested she go look, a minute later when we peeked in on her in the living room she was busy putting on her snowsuit over her pjs. We talked her out of going out then, saying we weren't ready and it was way to cold. After lunch we went to town and got what we need for AJ's sledding adventure. Sleds, snow boots, and a new snowsuit (we'll save the other one for her future skiing adventure). She couldn't do much more than waddle all bundled up, but I do believe she'll be warm. When we got home she and Daddy tried out one of the new sleds, but not more that 5 minutes, a little girl has no business being out any longer in 5 degree weather! But she is contented to wait for warmer weather, she laid down for her nap (in her pink big girl bed) a very happy little girl! What joy I feel to see my little girl so happy, there is nothing better than seeing her little face shine.
On a side note, as her crazy (because of the cold) daddy left to deer hunt this afternoon, this is what AJ told him, very matter of fact, "When I get bigger, I'm going to have a shootgun, a pink one!"
Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and has a happy New Year!

It has been much too long...
Since I last posted! We've been busy, had so many things to post, just haven't made it that far. Tonight Miss Addison and I decorated gingerbread houses. She loved it! She is so proud of her decorating skills. She didn't do to bad. Addison is so looking forward to Christmas, each day she goes to the Christmas tree and asks where her presents are. But she also knows we celebrate Christmas because it is Jesus's birthday. I think Adam and I are looking forward to Christmas with Addison. Adam has been busy working on AJ's Christmas surprise, we're hoping to have it done by Christmas, though time is running out! We got our first snow last night, big beautiful flakes. It didn't stick around long though, it was all gone by this afternoon. I do hope we get a little more snow or my Christmas gift to Adam will be a flop. We need just a little snow before Christmas!

State Fair Fun
Today we visited the State Fair at it's new location in Grand Island. Miss Addison thoroughly enjoyed the day, though only made it through about half the fair before falling sound asleep. The new barns and exhibit halls are amazing. Addison liked all the animals, but her favorite part was watching the sheep dog competition. She loved watching the dogs move the sheep and clapped very excitedly when each dog completed their task. We got to see the ABC quilt Grandma Hoagland made Addison for her birthday. We tried getting a picture of her with it but there were so many people walking by it was difficult, and the ones we did get did not turn out at all.

At the Lake
Addison's first fishing trip. She enjoyed it completely even though no fish were caught! Thus continues Adam and I's skunked streak, not once have we caught anything in the last 5 years, that's like 7 fishing trips! Hopefully next time we will have better luck. Addison was soo excited to see Uncle Vance and Aunt Alana, she had a fabulous time! We definitely had a great time. We headed to Glen Elder, KS after church this morning. It was a relaxing afternoon on the lake. We are so glad Vance and Alana could join us! We did have to call it an evening as the lighting and thunder got closer. Hope we can do this again soon!
